Since I drew Frerin and Dis, I've been asked to draw the father of Fili and Kili as well, so here he is, whatever his name may be
(Edit: And I'm not interested in any fan-made names).
I imagine him as the teddy bear kind of guy, warm-hearted and placid and definitely the parent the children would ask when they wanted something they know they should not have. Somehow I can't imagine him slain in battle; maybe he died in an accident.

He's frequently called Vili in fanfic because he is in the same Norse mythology as the other Dwarf names were taken from. Your headcanon is also pretty spot on with most fics, who see him as gentle man lost in an accident. And...this is a brilliant work, by the way as are all your others. You have a knack for capturing the Durins and the skill create put your headcanons.
